Catch Up with Me.

I didn’t blog this week. It’s largely because I had some strange work habits/other things to do.

I thought of just posting what happened early this month, but I think that it’s too long, too personal, and obviously too raw.

For those who don’t yet know, my cousin had cancer since he was four. He lived to be seventeen. He was a month and a few days to be eighteen–which he was excited about. So it was rather hard for me to…(understandably) understand. Then I had some things before that, but I went to a funeral. That’s the short answer. I feel like I should say more but there isn’t much more to it than that.

It was a funeral. 99.9% of us know what that’s about.

Now moving on to the revival of the color scheme: I went way too fast. I usually give myself a few weeks to gather the measurements, get the looks just write, etc. This time I did it all in four days. Not even whole days.

It’s nice and cool (color wise) and fallish but I don’t think I like it anymore.

So I will be starting to do something much more permanent.

Speaking of permanent! I’m changing one other thing. I’m considering changing some of the blog content. So changes to come obviously!

Hello, everyone!

Let us begin!

Chameleon Releases Today!

CHAMELEON Domino Project Front with Text 2

“Wow! A fast-paced, science fiction delight with fabulous action, a seamless world, and the most unique characters I’ve read in a long time.” Elana Johnson, Author of the Possession Series.

An Interview with K.T. Hanna

How old were you when you first started writing stories?
I used to scribble stories all the time, but the one I remember best was when I was about 8. And it was 12 a4 pages long, and I loved it! Ghosts and twins and falls and attics and death. Yep. Death, even then.

Do you write in other genres or age groups too?
I do! I write high fantasy, some horror. I occasionally pump out a thriller to. While my protagonists tend to veer into the YA category despite my intentions, I’ve also written MG and Adult before.

When are the next books coming out? Are you working on them already?
Hybrid comes out in November 2015. Parasite comes out in February 2016. Hybrid is going through intensive edits now, while Parasite is in first draft form. Stressing? Me? Never…

Are you obsessive about backing your work up? Any horror stories?
I am now. It goes to my harddrive, to my cloud, and to a backup drive and to my timemachine. Not a horror story of my own, but I’ve heard plenty by others.

Vegetables or meat?
Hmmm Veggies more often, but meat sometimes.

Caffeine or… that’s stupid, obviously it’s caffeine!
Yes.

Red wine or white wine?
Baileys

Astrology or Astronomy?
Hmmm can I have both? If I have to choose, maybe astrology then…

The Blurb:

When Sai’s newly awoken psionic powers accidentally destroy her apartment complex, she’s thrown into an intensive training program. Her only options are pass or die.

Surviving means proving her continued existence isn’t a mistake–a task her new mentor, Bastian, takes personally. Her abilities place her in the GNW Enforcer division, and partners her with Domino 12, who is eerily human for an alien-parasite psionic hybrid.

After eliminating an Exiled scientist, she discovers nothing is what it seems. With each mission more perilous, Sai must figure out who to trust before her next assignment becomes her last.

About the Author

Me Squared

KT Hanna has a love for words so extreme, a single word can spark entire worlds.

Born in Australia, she met her husband in a computer game, moved to the U.S.A. and went into culture shock. Bonus? Not as many creatures specifically out to kill you.

When she’s not writing, she freelance edits for Chimera Editing, interns for a NYC Agency, and chases her daughter, husband, corgis, and cat. No, she doesn’t sleep. She is entirely powered by the number 2, caffeine, and beef jerky.

Note: Still searching for her Tardis

the jacket

I am not a professional and this is all a product of me avoiding writing.

So I picked up colored pencils and drew a rose and flying petals.

On deviantart

That was one thing. (Also, the rights to the picture *are* mine.)

Then, another day, I needed stock for a cover while I brewed story ideas over. (Read: didn’t feel like working.)

But I didn’t have anything to play with but the rose. ‘Eh,’ I thought. ‘What the hell?’

The problem is that this cover’s too grown up for my story. Too light.

Of course, I love this thing to death but I don’t write the kind of stories it wants.

And then I thought of my friend who complained about buying images or rights and everything in order to promote and sell her book. (She ended up not doing it.)

I know a lot of people feel the same way.

I thought of the cover and someone out there has to love it or need it or want it.

I won’t feel bad if no one does (I’ll get to keep it,) but I thought I should try.

So, here’s what I’d like:
-if you think it’s a good match for you, tell me
-no, you don’t have to know me. You don’t even have to like me.
-you don’t have to follow or anything but you have to promote it. Who knows? I might see you looking out for others and fix a cover just for you.
-if you use it, tell me what the links are so I can put them on my blogs
-you can name me as the creator but only if you want to. Either way is cool with me.
-you don’t have to be self-published or in the business to. But I’d really like it if you were. *bats lashes*

What else am I forgetting? Oh yeah, it IS a giveaway and some things are customized (frame on author pic, etc.) but I can’t change the flow of it anymore.

And I do have another one (that I didn’t make a jacket for.)

deviantart hated this picture for some reason

Leave a comment  and I’ll pick a winner on Monday November 5. 🙂

EDIT: you must comment to enter. Otherwise…how will I know? O.o

Also, someone made me realize that this isn’t the first time I did book covers OR photography.

Here‘s where some of my photos are. And here are more things I made:

The Internet’s bizarre and did something to this one

There are others that I can make. Like this one, for example:

Sorry for the bulky words. I screwed up.

So, I can make different book covers if you’d like. So yeah. If you see something you like, let me know in the comments. REMEMBER Novemeber 5th.

And yeah, I might just give you guys a cover for the heck of it. Though this time, it’s purely giveaway. Next time I might just want to know what your book’s about. 🙂 (SO NOW’S YOUR CHANCE.)

First of All

Since no one took my offer of free books, I’ll be making a giveaway/contest soon to win some YA titles. (IDEAS ARE SO TOTALLY WELCOME.)

Second:
I’ve been revising like MAD. Like, I couldn’t function kind of revising. (And I don’t know how well I’ll do with the betas.) I missed socializing and being able to finish a thought without it being a sentence from my story. SO YOU GUYS ROCK FOR STILL BEING AROUND!

Third:
I can’t even begin to tell you guys how crazy I am about my upcoming due date! (Book Baby) I think I’ve got something here and 33 days from now I’ll be querying. AND HYPERVENTILATING LIKE MAD!

This story means so much to me and I hope that my hard work shows. If the story doesn’t sell, though, I’m just going to tuck it away for another few years. I’ve done it once, I’ll do it again.

Right now, I just came up another story idea. I’m not going to stop being a writer because I’m not published. 🙂 Besides, I can always torment you guys with my unpublishables ;D

So let me know what you guys think I should do for the giveaway/contest! 😀
